Namaste, we are Awareness Yoga Retreat!

We are passionate yoga and meditation instructors. Through yoga, meditation, and group discussions our retreats aim to bring peace and joy by living a more aware life.

We know the amazing transformation that can happen at a yoga retreat. But we also know how expensive a trip to the Costa Rican jungle can be. Awareness Yoga Retreat gives you a one-day yoga retreat that is affordable and fits nicely into your schedule – no need to reserve vacation days or stress about flight arrangements!

Our retreats include an energizing vinyasa flow to start the day and end with a relaxing restorative session to send you home feeling renewed. In between those two yummy yoga classes is where the magic happens. As a group, we circle together to discuss the retreat’s theme. We will then dive into conversation sharing our experiences as we grow together. On top of all that we share a delicious meal and spend time in meditation. What more could you ask for in a one-day-away escape?

Patricia Thompson, awareness yoga retreat

Patricia found yoga 16 years ago. As a competitive gymnast and cheerleader, yoga seemed like a natural place for her to continue bending and standing on her head. She loved the workout but when she realized the mental benefit she was hooked. Patricia had found something that would make her strong, in shape and calm. For most of her years she practiced, she had no idea the depth of yoga. As a teacher, she gets excited to introduce people to this way of living that has changed her body and mind. For 3 years she has been teaching a blend of vinyasa, ashtanga and whatever else she feels inspired to teach.

Mikyla is a yogini, artist, world traveler, and outdoors enthusiast. As a classically trained ballerina of 18 years, Mikyla’s transition into yoga was very natural. It did not take her long to fall in love with yoga! Immediately Mikyla was drawn to the way her body felt elongated, strong, and relaxed after a good yoga class. What really drew Mikyla in was the meditation and peace her practice instilled in her life. As a teacher, Mikyla encompasses key yoga postures linked together through mindful breath and rad music.
